Nevica

ISIA Urbino | 2012

Nevica è un breve racconto sull’inverno del 2012 a Urbino.

In pochi giorni la città venne coperta da più di tre metri di neve, ovattando tutto il paesaggio e rendendo surreale girare per le strade camminando ad altezze di solito inaccessibili.

La città era quasi isolata dal resto del mondo e in effetti così ci sentivamo anche noi, studenti del primo anno specialistico, senza lezioni e senza esami a breve. Io, che abitavo al primo piano, mi son dovuta trasferire da alcuni miei compagni, perché la mia casa era stata totalmente sommersa e non riuscivo più a entrare.

Non è facile raccontare cosa sono stati quei giorni per me, il silenzio che ci circondava e la spensieratezza data da non poter fare niente altro che godersi un’assurda situazione.

Un po’ ci ho provato però.

Nevica is a short story about the 2012 winter in Urbino.

A massive snowfall came down on Urbino, that year: in a few days, the town was covered with three meters of snow. Walking in the streets was quite surreal. Or I should say above the streets, because that height was more appropriate for the flight of birds.

With no bus service to the town centre, the town was isolated. And so we were, university students without classes or exams to do. I used to live at the ground floor and after the snowfall I had to ask to some friends to put me up because my house was totally covered and inaccessible.

It is not easy to tell how I felt those days. The surrounding silence, the carefreeness due to the impossibility of doing anything, the snow all around us.

Snow had never influenced my life so much before.

It was wonderful.
